Force Refresh is an art project by aenoch aka Andrew Enoch.
Inspired by a stint at a t-shirt screening company back in 2009, I’ve been intrigued by nature of the t-shirt design. Back then I enjoyed taking the commercial products I was working on, and by selectively covering areas in the screen print I could change, elaborate upon, or even subvert the original message of the t-shirt. Now with the latest digital, print-on-demand abilities, I just can’t stop making t-shirt art. I love the way shirts are cultural signifiers, sending invisible smoke signals out to like-minded individuals. I love the broadcasting nature of them, and how much or how little they can mean to someone. It’s a public, personal form of art that anyone can participate in.
Everything on the site is either something I’ve made or made in collaboration with friends. The designs have all gone through multiple iterations and tests, making sure the details are just the way I like them and ensuring they print beautifully. I wear them constantly and I’ve begun to realize that this isn’t really a t-shirt company. It is a performance art project that I’m involved with on a daily basis. And I hope you will enjoy participating as well!
